Village cricket match abandoned after fight

The umpires at a local cricket match abandoned the game after a fight broke out between players, the Buckinghamshire Advertiser reports this week.
According to the report ,a player was headbutted then hit with a cricket bat during the Mid Bucks League game between Knotty Green and Ibsden on 18 July.
It's the first time anyone can remember a cricket match being abandoned because of fighting between players.
The clubs are refusing to give details and a leauge disciplinary hearing was held in private this week.
Steve Baxter, treasurer of Knotty Green Cricket Club, told the newspaper: "There was an incident which included an assault, and the circumstances are such that the umpires felt it appropriate to abandon the game."
