Just had a joint children's birthday party in the Penn Room. It was brilliant - the children and Oscar the entertainer had plenty of room and we, the mums, had access to the bar area for all the food prep. Excellent venue, fantastic price and a real community gem.

I lived in the village from birth until 1969. My parents Anne and Frank Jarvis lived opposite the butcher's shop in Hazlemere Road. Sadly my parents are no longer with us, Dad died in 1992 and Mum in 2010. My Dad was devoted to his home village of Penn, his gran lived in a cottage where Coppice Farm Road joins Hazlemere Road.

From child until adult I lived at Longhope,Kingswood Avenue. My parents were Henry and Georgina. My grandparents lived at San-pitts Hammersley lane. My great Aunt Edith Beale had the Nursery opposite to St. Margaret's. Most of my ancestrys were born and died in the area

I have just found your website and browsed through the coments. I grew up in Tylers Green , I live in Heathside just down the bumpy lane below the village hall,.we had quite a big Family, at that time there was Jean, Doris, Joyce, myself, Ron , Stan, and we all attended Tyler Green infant school, under Mr filbey, Mr Smih took P.T and Sportsand Mrs Filbey also taught, I myself from 1939-1949 then when to Hatter Lane secondry modern,Some of things that come back are playing in fairy dell, building bonfires for guy forks, playing football on back common, and skating on the pond when the frost came, But my greatest memory was jioning in with a gang of us and biulding a cycle speedway track between the football pitch and the criket pitch,We called our team of 8 riders the Tylers Green Tigers, and we clashed with Hazelmere Harriers, Langly Leopards, some of our team were Bob Dennis ,Basil Coombes, Bill Bates, Ian Long Greald Hern.Those were great daysto anybody that may recall any of this ,Please feel free to contact me and if any of you have Skype Im on there also.

Hi glad I found your website I lived in Penn from 1947 until 1968 my mothers name was Nellie Chilton wthey were an old Penn and Tylers Green family I have quite a few old phots of events and places in Penn

I lived in Nursery Lane, Tylers Green from the late 1930's to approx 1944 with my parents and sisters June and Marjorie. I have fond memories of the common covered in fern, the school I went to and as I got older, the village hall dances.
I visited there yesterday and would love to know anyone who remembers me or my family. Names I remember Joan Long, Margaret Trendall, Florrie Thatcher and Ben White.
