My partner had relatives who ran the Rose Bush pub in Penn - surname Walker. Around 1930 - 1940.

Well done for this great site, I have found it an invaluable source for information about the local area! I was particularly pleased when reading past news items that dog walkers meet on Christmas day - something I would extremely enjoy - let's hope it happens this year, too!

Charity Dinner at The Old Queens Head.
Just a short note to say a huge thank you to all regulars and locals from Penn and Tylers Green for their fantastic support to our Charity Dinner on Friday 17th November. We raised over �4,000 for both Children in Need and the children's Gardening Project at Tylers Green First School.
A fabulous night was had by all.

I grew up in Tylers green and went to the infant and junior schools, my parents Jane and Mac still live in the same house. I still get back occasionally but not that often. It's interesting to see so many names I recognise on here.

Through Village Voice I was able to contact a childhood friend.
I was very upset about the problem in King's Wood as my friend and I had spent many happy hours during the second war, playing in the woods.
