The Super Fun Run Organising Committee and the Thomas Ball Children's Cancer Fund would like to thank you all - all those who ran in the event this year, those who came to support and especially all those who gave up their time to help with organising and running the event. The day would not have been the success it was without all of you.
As I lay in bed at 6 o'clock on Sunday morning, having been woken by a massive thunderclap, and listened to the torrential rain outside, I feared the worst for the day. But by 8 o'clock, the rain had stopped and by ten o'clock the sun was shining. Bearing in mind the weather forecast for the day, I think we were incredibly lucky. And the result was pretty ideal conditions for the runners - as evidenced by the 950-odd runners in the two races, not to mention another 100 youngsters in the mini-marathons.
Preliminary figures showed that over £10,000 was raised on the day. And whilst some of that will be taken up in the expenses of staging the event, by far the majority will go directly to the Thomas Ball Charity. So thank you all for your generosity and support. There is a little more income from the day to come, and I know that many runners were running for charity, either for Thomas Ball or for their own charity. If you were raising money for Thomas Ball, please send your cheques and sponsorship forms as soon as possible to:

In recent years we have not been able to publish results for the event. However we are pleased to have produced some results this year.
Penn Seven - Provisional results are now available, by clicking the link below. We are sorry that we only have limited information on finishing times; we will try to do better next year. A couple of results are missing, probably because the runner's number was for some reason obscured. If you are one of those whose results are missing, please contact Alun Jones on 01494 816946 or 07967 605307.
Super Fun Run - I am afraid that, with the number of runners involved, we have quite as number of queries with the Fun Run results. We have done the best we can to resolve some of these issues, but there are a number of finishers where the runner's number is missing or appears wrong. If you are one of those finishers, the please contact Alun on the above number so we can tie your name against the finishing position.
We hope you all enjoyed the event. If you have any comments on the day, whether negative or positive (and we would love to have the positives as well as the negatives) please use the Contact Us button on the left to send a message.
As indicated above, the success of the event is dependent on a dedicated band of people who help organise and host it. A number of those people have been involved for many years, and would welcome some new blood. So if you would be prepared to help, either in the planning and organising next year's event, or just on the day, please contact Phil Duffy (817614), Geoff Jones (811958) or Alun Jones (816946).
Finally thanks you once again for your support in making 2009's event such a success. See you again next year.
